Local Punch Storage
When there’s no internet, the app stores the clock-in locally on the device — GPS coordinates, timestamp, and all. It doesn’t skip the punch, delay it, or show an error. It just works.
Automatic Sync
The moment connectivity returns, the offline queue syncs all stored punches to the server automatically. No manual upload. No “try again” button. Punches flow in the order they happened with full accuracy.
Queue Visibility
Workers can see how many punches are queued and waiting to sync. Managers see synced punches appear on the dashboard as they come in. Full transparency.
Built as Core Architecture
This isn’t a fallback mode bolted onto an online-only app. The offline queue is core architecture — AsyncStorage-based, FIFO sync, max 5 retries. It was designed to work offline from day one.

Timesheet Tab
Weekly timesheet view with previous/next week navigation. Total hours worked. Overtime highlighting. Workers see their own hours without asking a manager.
Schedule Tab
View assigned shifts with start/end times. Release a shift back to the open pool. Pick up open shifts. .ics export via the device’s calendar app.
News Tab
Company announcements with read/unread styling. Tap to mark as read. Unread count badge on the tab. Managers push announcements from the web dashboard.
Time Off Tab
PTO request list with status chips (Pending, Approved, Rejected). Floating action button to create a new request — select leave type, pick dates, add notes. Cancel pending requests.

GPS works independently of internet. Even when the punch is stored in the offline queue, the location is captured and stored with it. When the queue syncs, the GPS data comes along.
Geofence Enforcement
If the employee’s assigned geofence has hard enforcement enabled, the app will block the clock-in if they’re outside the boundary — with a clear message explaining why.
